As an engagement photographer in Island Park, Idaho, I had the pleasure of capturing Haley & Matt’s gorgeous summer engagement session! They chose Island Park as their session location, which I was very excited about! The landscape, boasting picturesque lakes, meandering rivers, and lush trees, provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening! The scenery there always reminds me of Yellowstone National Park, but it is much closer to home.
Haley and Matt were a joy to work with! It was so much fun hanging out with them for the evening. They came ready to have fun and laugh — and we did lots of that! Their genuine connection and playful demeanor made an absolute pleasure to capture.

Furthermore, one of the highlights of this session was seamlessly incorporating the breathtaking landscape into the photographs. The vibrant colors of nature mirrored the vibrancy of the couple’s love, resulting in a collection of images that truly captured the essence of their relationship. The colors of nature were so stunning and I love that Haley and Matt’s outfits fit into the landscape beautifully.
Additionally, what made this engagement session truly remarkable was the dramatic interplay of nature. Storm clouds rolled in, transforming the sky into a canvas of vibrant hues. Then, as the session drew to a close, the first droplets of rain began to fall. It was perfect timing! Afterward, we drove home in one of the craziest rain and hail storms I have seen! It was a fitting end to an adventurous day.
As I look back on this engagement session, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to document such a sweet couple! From the captivating scenery to the charming couple, every element came together to create some of my favorite images ever. And as an engagement photographer in Island Park, I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque backdrop or wonderful couple.
