This beautiful family all came together for a stunning extended family reunion session in Island Park, Idaho! They came from all over the United States to vacation together in this incredible place. And what better time for an extended family session!
Extended Family Session Location in Island Park
I personally think that Island Park, Idaho is the perfect place for a family reunion. So much so that I’m trying to convince my family to plan their reunion for next year in Island Park too! The area is so beautiful everywhere you look and there are lots of cabins available to rent. Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are both nearby and make for incredible day trips. It’s not too far from an airport while also being secluded.
This extended family session took place at Big Springs in Island Park – one of my favorite spots! The sun comes through the pine trees beautifully in the evening. There is a beautiful bridge and boardwalk so that you can get a good look a the clear spring water running into the river. I’ve also seen a moose there on several occasions!
I thought this family did an incredible job choosing outfits! They went with lots of neutrals (browns, tans, whites, and grays) with pops of mauve, maroon, and blue. The earthy tones added beautiful color to the images while also complimenting the colors of the nature around them. The mostly solid clothing allowed the focus to be on the people rather than the clothes. Everyone was able to wear something unique to them while staying in a color palette that worked together with the group.
I had a lot of fun meeting this family! I love how these photos turned out. In just an hour, we were able to capture photos of all of them together, individual families, couples, kids, and more. Extended family sessions are absolutely worth doing when your family is all together.
